Congratulations! The doyenne of the fairground is 100 years old, yet she evinces a timeless elegance and a charm undimmed by age. The Munich architect Friedrich von Thiersch first drew the plans in 1907 and Kaiser Wilhelm II opened the magnificent edifice just under two years later in May 1909.
Freshly restored and partially reconstructed, this domed building disposes over the very latest event technology as well as an abundance of space; its 6,000 m² interior and architecturally appealing balconies combine to accommodate up to 13,500 people at a time. Three historic halls as well as offices and cloakrooms complete the package. Mobile hoisting platforms can be used to provide grandstands and the glass dome can be blacked out. The interconnectedness of the Festhalle, Hall 1 and the Forum, combined with the former's immediate proximity to the Congress Center and Hall 3, offer possibilities for events of any size.
